Last night when I watch a programe in some national channel there was investigate proverty in indonesia and specially in Jakarta. They said that the number of poor people in indonesia now is about 37 million or 16% of population. Seem its like big problem yeah, but the social departement said that we are success to decrease proverty number from 39 million to 37 million. Cmon, what a significant number 2 million?? And then they said that 16% poor people can’t be change, its mean 16% of population in indonesia are infinitely poor, what a shame. So who responsible of this number of provety?? Government?? Other lucky people?? Or its possessed by their parents??
They said that the poor people are people who have wage < Rp. 180.000, and other variable to check their proverty are :
1.the condition of their home and environtment
2.their access to water facilitation and good sanitation
3.their access to health facilitation
4.level of education.
From all of variable, I will focus on level of education. As we know that education is the important part to being success. And I think it’s the key for poor people to out from proverty. With better education you can get better job with better wage, and will help you out from proverty. But the problems are education is expensive and poor people didn’t care with education (their child education). So I think proverty is possessed by their parents. To get better explanation i will use some design.
Ups, its like more complicated if we use the design. The design said that level of education can make poor people out from proverty. But there some problem to get the education. Education need cost, and poor people didn’t have enough money to get education for their child. So their child can’t have better education and it will make their child become candidate poor people in several years. And it’s the primary cause, why poor family still poor family.
Its not a fate to be poor, it is a possession.
So if poor family want to get better live for their children, they must give their children formal education, which is they must strugle to get more income. Poor parents shouldn't possess proverty to their children.
Don't blame goverment, don't blame the others, but blame your self for love to being poor.
Cmon indonesian...lets fight the proverty
for better live and better indonesia!!

It's rather harsh to say that poor people love to remain in poverty.
Given a very limited budget, insufficient to fulfill even the most primary needs (food and shelter), it becomes rather understandable that they feel the need to set priorities. Obviously, spending money to have one child go to school doesn't seem like a good prospect if your other child dies from starvation. Rising costs of primary education create an even larger disincentive to educate their children. I'm a firm believer in the market, but believe me, this market has failed. Miserably. The government does need to step in, not by making consumption cheaper (because that increases consumption instead of education), but by making primary education free.
Poverty is the epitome of a vicious cycle, which requires a lot of work to reduce. Saving 2 million from poverty is a good achievement, make no mistake. But we can do better. And we should
Fik, try to read "laskar pelangi". Then you will understand why there's always a chance for everyone to get education.
